Studienfahrt der Klasse 8b
Dresden, 01.06. - 05.06.2015
Our trip to Dresden
From 01 June – 05 June 2015 our form 8b went on an excursion to Dresden, the capital of Saxony.
Dresden is a big and exciting city with lots of interesting museums.
First we went on a city rally through the old centre to get to know Dresden. In groups we had to find the answers on some quiz questions. We saw a lot on this rally, like the „Zwinger“, the „Semperoper“, the castle and the „Frauenkirche“.
Some of us liked the „Frauenkirche“ best, because from the top of this beautiful church you have a wonderful view over Dresden and its landscape around. We were impressed by the organ and the wonderful paintings on the ceiling.
We also visited „Grünes Gewölbe“ - the Green Vault. We got audio-guides so that we could go through the exhibition on our own. It was very interesting to see all the different things, like silver statues and rings with precious stones.
One of our highlights was our hiking tour through „Elbsandsteingebirge“. The best thing was the crossing of the river Elbe by ferry. We came through a canyon named „Schwedenlöcher“, crossed the „Basteibrücke“, climbed the „Felsengarten“ and had an amazing view over the Elbe and its valley in the „Sächsische Schweiz“.
Most of us liked „Hygienemuseum“ best.
The human body was explained with the help of many experiments and interesting descriptions. There were a lot of things we were able to try out, things to touch and test. It was informative, cool and we had a lot of fun.
And of course, we went to the art gallery „Alte Meister“. We prepared this visit very carefully: Everybody had to describe one of the paintings there, talk abouts its history, the art period and the painter. So we guided ourselves though this art gallery and we often had interested listeners around us. It was not always easy, because there were many people in the gallery, but our art teacher complimented us for our good reports and behaviour.
We think that our trip to Dresden was very exciting and interesting, cool and funny. It was the best trip we ever had.
